Registration, Evaluation, Authorization
and Restriction of Chemicals (R.E.A.C.H.)
OVERVIEW:
As of June 2007, the European Regulation (EC) 1907/2006 concerning Registration,
Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction
of Chemicals (R.E.A.C.H.) entered in to force.
REACH affects many tiers of the supply
chain throughout all industries and covers all substances whether manufactured,
imported, used as intermediaries or placed on the market, either on their own, in
preparations or in articles (unless covered in an exemptions provided in the REACH
Regulation).
It is of key importance that all actors
in the supply chain understand their duties and perform necessary actions in a timely
manner in order to avoid supply chain disruption.
Please consider the following:
-
REACH poses a threat to any company doing
business in the EU (and businesses with customers who do business in the EU)
-
Business continuity can be adversely impacted
by REACH and supply chains can be disrupted.
-
Companies that understand the business implications
and impacts of REACH and develop strategic action plans will gain competitive edge
over those who do not.
REACH is a requirement for Nidec to
service the European community and as a supplier of Nidec we require your full cooperation.
